His pectoral fins are growing larger and his dorsal, which is quite tall in its own respect, leans very far to his left side. Also, his flukes are beginning to curl under, like all adult males. He has grown at an astounding rate in the past year and a half; he currently measures slightly over 19 feet and weighs in at 6,700 pounds.

Even though he was involved in a minor incident with a trainer in July of 2004, Kyuquot still does water work with his trainers and may continue to due so when he reaches his final size (which will probably around 21 to 22 feet and 11,000 to 12,000 pounds). He is an excellent performer and is used regularly in shows. Being the largest orca in the stadium, Ky is the best at splashing the crowds with chilly 52 degree (Fahrenheit) water. He can now completely soak the first several rows of seating with his tail slap.

An adult female named Kayla gave birth to a little calf on October 9, 2005. There is a very good chance that the father of the calf is Kyuquot, but it may also be another mature male named Keet.
