LANAirlines S.A. (formerly Lan Chile S.A.) is an airline based in Santiago, Chile.
LANAirlines and Aerolineas Argentinas are the only Latin American airlines that fly to Oceania.
LAN codeshares with American Airlines to U.S. destinations, British Airways and Iberia to European destinations, to Asian destinations with Korean Air, and some destinations in Australia and New Zealand with Qantas.
Chile's LANAirlines said on Wednesday its first-quarter net profit rose 72 percent to USD$79.7 million, boosted by an accounting change, but earnings were flat without that one-time gain.
LAN posted an extraordinary non-cash gain of USD$40.3 million in the quarter after changing the way it accounts for airplane maintenance to bring it in line with international practice.
LAN said revenue growth was driven by an 18.1 percent rise in passenger revenue to USD$436.9 million.
