 La Paz is a municipality of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. With a land area of 20,275 km² (7,828.2 sq mi), it is the fourth-largest municipality in land area in all of Mexico. It had a population of 219,596 inhabitants in the 2005 census (INEGI). The municipal seat, located in La Paz, also serves as the State capital.
