Nero (Не́ро) — lake in Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia. Area 54.4 sq km, maximum depth 3.6 m. The bottom of the lake is covered with thick layer of sapropel (a sort of ooze used as fertilizer and for other purposes). The town of Rostov is located on the western shore of the lake.

The Golden House was filled in and served as the foundation of Trajan's baths, the lake disappeared under the Colosseum, the amphitheatrum Flavium, and the statue's head was changed to that of a divinity.
