Lake Terang was a lake near Terang, Victoria. Following European settlememt of the area surrounding the lake in the 1800s the lake began to dry out. It was drained in the 1960s and is now used as a recreation area, for agriculture and as part of the Terang Golf Course. Terang is a small Australian town with a population of just under 2,000 situated in the Shire of Corangamite in the western district of Victoria, Australia, on the Princes Highway 212 km south west of the States capital Melbourne. ...
The sediments of Lake Terang go back 350,000 years and are of signficant interest for palaeoecology and the geologic history of western Victoria.
