According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.7 km˛ (0.7 mi˛). 0.9 km˛ (0.3 mi˛) of it is land and 0.8 km˛ (0.3 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 46.97% water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 37 people, 14 households, and 13 families residing in the city. The population density is 40.8/km˛ (106.0/mi˛). There are 15 housing units at an average density of 16.5/km˛ (43.0/mi˛). The racial makeup of the city is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 14 households out of which 42.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 92.9% are married couples living together, 0.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 7.1% are non-families. 7.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 0.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.64 and the average family size is 2.77.

Lakeside Nature Center has the second largest wildlife rehabilitation program in the state and is the only one in Missouri to combine wildlife rehabilitation with extensive environmental education programming.
In 1966, Lakeside Nature Center opened in an old concession stand in Swope Park that was built in 1931 as a WPA project.
At the time, it was the only facility in Missouri to house live native mammals, reptiles, and birds of prey where the visitors could stand within inches of the animals.
