He was an authority on the Basque language: his book The history of Basque (1997) is an essential reference on diachronic Basque linguistics and probably the best introduction to Basque linguistics as a whole. Larry Trask was Professor of Linguistics at the University of Sussex and a leading expert on Basque and historical linguistics.
Larry Trask was born on the 10th of November of 1944 in upstate New York and obtained a BS and MA in Chemistry (the latter from Brandeis Univ.) before he moved to England in 1970 and earned a PhD in Linguistics (at the School of Oriental and African Studies in the Univ. of London).
Larry Trask died on the 27th of March of 2004.

Bolivar Trask first publicly revealed the existence of the Sentinels in the course of live televised debate on the subject of the alleged "mutant menace" to humanity between himself and the geneticist and Professor Charles Xavier, secretly a mutant and the leader of the mutant team X-Men.
Trask was brought to the fortress he had had constructed for the Sentinels as a headquarters, where the X-Men were also being held captured captive.
Larry Trask wrongly blamed the X-Men for his father's death, and determined to have the Sentinels capture and imprison them and all other known superhuman mutants.
