The province is bounded by the Pacific Ocean on the east; on the south by Isabela province; on the west by the Cordillera Mountains; and on the north by the Balintang Channel and the Babuyan Group of Islands.
It is bounded on the north east by the municipality of Lallo, Cagayan, on the north west by the municipality of Allacapan, Cagayan and Flora,Apayao, on the east by the Cagayan River, and Gattaran, Cagayan, on the south by Santo Niño, Cagayan and on the south west by the municipality of Rizal, Cagayan.
Lasam are traversed by the mighty Cordillera Mountain ranges on the western side and the turbulent Cagayan River on the eastern part of the municipality.
