The Lawrenceville School is a historic American boarding school for grades nine through twelve, and is considered by many to be one of the most prestigious secondary schools in the United States.
The Lawrenceville School was featured in a number of novels by Owen Johnson, class of 1895, notably The Prodigious Hickey, The Tennessee Shad, and The Varmint (1910).
Lawrenceville was all-male until 1987, when then-Headmaster Josiah Bunting III successfully implemented the gender integration of the School.
