Leaside High School is a school of 1000 pupils in central-east Toronto at the corner of Eglinton and Bayview Avenues. Established in 1945, the school was named after the H.M.C.S. The school is known for its excellent academics, with strong science, computer science, and classics programs. Leaside High features both a Gifted program as well as a French Immersion program. In late 2006, Leaside High was rated "Best Toronto School for Languages" by Toronto Life Magazine.


Feeder schools for Leaside High School include Bessborough Public School and Northlea Public School. The school houses the East York gifted program, from Gordon A. Brown Middle School; and the french immersion program, from Cosburn Middle School.
