Lebanon Township is a township located in Clinton County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 705.


Communities

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 91.7 km˛ (35.4 mi˛). 91.7 km˛ (35.4 mi˛) of it is land and 0.1 km˛ (0.04 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 0.06% water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 705 people, 219 households, and 183 families residing in the township. The population density is 7.7/km˛ (19.9/mi˛). There are 225 housing units at an average density of 2.5/km˛ (6.4/mi˛). The racial makeup of the township is 99.72% White, 0.00% African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.14% from two or more races. 0.43% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 219 households out of which 44.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 74.0% are married couples living together, 5.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 16.0% are non-families. 14.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.22 and the average family size is 3.59.


In the township the population is spread out with 35.3% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 9.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 113.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 113.1 males.


The median income for a household in the township is $52,500, and the median income for a family is $53,854. Males have a median income of $40,833 versus $26,538 for females. The per capita income for the township is $16,640. 7.4% of the population and 6.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 4.8% of those under the age of 18 and 16.1% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
