History

Lozowick began his life as a spiritual teacher in 1975. After an awakening in the mid 1970s, he took up the work of a Guru. With several of his students, he made a pilgramage to India in 1976, where he met Yogi Ramsuratkumar. Lozowick became a disciple of Yogi Ramsuratkumar, and attributed his earlier awakening, or what he refers to as a "shift in context," to Yogi Ramsuratkumar. 1975 (MCMLXXV) was a common year starting on Wednesday. ... Personality and Teachings

Lozowick is sometimes associated with a school of thought called "crazy wisdom". He also identifies himself as, "a western Baul". He is a western Tantric Yogi, which while assuming already present enlightenment is also very practical and grounded with regard to that which impedes us in living a life of Surrender to the Will of God. So in his community there is daily discipline such as study, exercise, meditation, and diet, with emphasis on kindness, generosity and compassion. Also, Lozowick seems to feature Bhakti Yoga, or devotional practice and Karma Yoga, the practice of right action. While Lozowick no longer refers to himself as Enlightened, he continues to teach at the Hohm Community in Arizona and serves as Guru to his students. He considers himself an example of a true disciple, although his students and contemporaries consider him to be a Master Guru. Despite his reputation for crass and provocative behavior, he has remained free of controversy and scandal.
