Known as the bandleader of recordings by Leo Reisman and His Orchestra. Violinist and bandleader. Born 1897 in Boston. Studied violin as a young man, forming his own band in 1919. He became famous for having over 80 hits on the popular charts during his career.

Leo Reisman died in New York City on December 18, 1961 at the age of 64.
Reisman was a violinist with the Baltimore Symphony before starting his orchestra in the early 1920's.
Composer Jerome Kern called Reisman's orchestra "the String Quartet of Dance Bands." In the days when music stores were selling sheet music, classical and popular, customers had the services of a pianist who would play selections of their choice.
At twelve years of age LeoReisman was doing just that and playing his violin in the orchestra of The Bijou Dream Theater.
