Leon Stukelj was born on 12 November, 1898, in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.
Stukelj won a gold medal for the beam, parallel bars and the rings, and came second on the pommel horse.
Stukelj's achievements gave Slovenia and its sports something that even much larger nations would be very proud of; a good example of this was at the 26th summer Olympic games in Atlanta, where Stukelj received a loud applause by a crowd of 85,000 people at the opening ceremony in the Olympic stadium.
