"Leapin' Leroy" attended Fairmont State University in the US and was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in the 8th round of the NBA Draft in 1980. In 1981 Loggins joined the Brisbane Bullets in his first NBL season, but left the club after one season to play for the West Adelaide Bearcats in 1982. After a successful stint with the Bearcats (including winning his first championship), Loggins returned to the Bullets where he would play the remainder of his career even captaining the Bullets from 1990 through till his retirement. As an Australian citizen, Loggins also competed for the Australian mens basketball team, the Boomers, in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. Loggins would eventually retire after 19 seasons in the NBL at the end of the 2000/01 season despite still being an integral part of the Bullets lineup at 44 years of age. The number 30 jersey worn by Loggins throughout his career has been retired by the Bullets in his honour.
