It bounded by the Góry Świętokrzyskie (Holy Cross Mountains) on the north, the broad range of hills stretching down from Czestochowa to Cracow (Jura Krakowsko-Czestochowska) on the west, and the Tatra, Pieniny Mountains and Beskidy Mountains on the south.
