Comics Lethargic Lad is a comic book character and the name of a comic created by Canadian artist Greg Hyland. He created the character in high school as a doodle and eventually used the character in an anthology with some of his friends called Lethargic Comics Weakly (June 1991 – June 1993). The comic was designed to lampoon superhero comics. The series continued again in January 1994 with Lethargic Comics, which ran for 15 issues through June 1996. In June 1996 a three issue mini-series was released that dropped the anthology style of the comics. The cover to issue #1 of the mini-series was painted by Alex Ross as a parody of DC Comics Kingdom Come series. In October 1997 Lethargic Lad Adventures launched. The series lasted 13 issues, being renamed Lethargic Lad after the second issue. This series began the actual story of the comic on the cover. In April 1999 Greg Hyland launched lethargiclad.com and changed from a comic book to a bi-weekly webcomic. Each month's comic are considered an issue; however it's currently a weekly comic posted on or around Sunday. He has taken off time for other projects and the birth of his daughter.
