The bill received much resistence because of the various problems found in it. In particular, the article that criminalizes some types of speech about circumventing technical protection measures (ie. DRM) was seen as unconstitutional and compromising the freedom of speech. However, many members of parliament found it best to vote for passing the bill because there was EU directive to be implemented, and Finland was already behind schedule.
