The Lezgins, also called the Lezgin, Lezgi, Lezgis, Lezgs, and Lezgians are an ethnic group who live mainly in southern Dagestan and northern Azerbaijan who speak the Lezgi language. The term still strikes a chord in the hearts of most Russians for their fame in resisting Russian conquest for more than half of the 19th century.
