The Liberal Democratic Party (Liberal Demokratska Partija) is a liberal party in the Republic of Macedonia. Macedonia has total population of 2,022,547 inhabitants (census of 2002), with an average population density of 78.6 inhabitants/km2 of whom roughly 60 percent live in urban areas.
Macedonia is a parliamentary democracy with an executive government and an independent judicial branch with a constitutional court.
The government coalition is composed of several parties, the main of which are SDSM (Social Democrats) DUI (Democratic Union for integration- ethnic Albanian party) and LDP, (Liberal Democratic Party).

At the proposal of the newly elected president of the Party, Mr Oazu Nantoi, ex-president of the SDPM was elected president of the National Council.
The party puts itself in service for the “working class, peasantry and intelligentsia.” According to the programme “It struggles for the socialist development of Moldova with an ultimate goal to build a communist society.” However, at present, the Communist Party is pressured from outside to modernize and is thus sliding more towards social democracy.
