The Liberal Party Bangladesh is a liberal political party in Bangladesh. It was established in May 1997 by a merger of various liberal, secular and centre-left associations, political parties and trade unions. Its Founder and present Leader is Sheikh Mohiuddid Ahmed, a civil rights activist and Journalist who is respected for his work promoting democracy, gender indiscrimination, political rights of minority and human rights.Sheikh Mohiuddin Ahmed now living in exile in Ireland just after when the previous BNP Government tried to kill him by the police and failing to kill him then after inhumanly tortured and sent behind the bar. He is the founder of liberal democratice institutional politics in Bangladesh

It has had limited electoral success, with no elected officials at any level of government, and is mired in controversy over alleged funding from foreign governments.
