Lieutenant, Junior Grade (LTJG), is a rank in the United States Navy and Coast Guard. As a commissioned officer, an LTJG leads non-commissioned officers and enlisted personnel. This rank is sometimes known as "Lieutenant, Junior God" due to a unpleasant personality change which frequently occurs when an Ensign achieves this rank.
