  8. Living Memories. 16 year old Paul Petersen sustains severe head injuries after coming off his bike in a hit and run accident after seeing his girlfriend, Susie Martin. It is found out that Paul's head injuries are so severe that they declare him brain dead and that the ventilator be turned off. Paul has wished to donate his organs after his death, but his father, Donald Petersen and the rest of the family, his mother, younger sister and grandmother refuse Paul's organs to be donated. Seven year old Rachel is brought to Holby with severe breathing difficulties, she has epiglottitis, they try intubation, but the epiglottis is too swollen and they perform a tracheotomy, her mother was played by the actress, Pauline Quirke. Two men, one dressed as a rabbit, and the other as a chicken come into holby, one of them has gone through a window and sustains lacerations and they make rude jokes/wisecracks to Charlie Fairhead, Duffy and the paramedics, but later apolgise for their rude behaviour (one of the rudeness occurs when Paul Petersen is rushed back into resuscitation when he went into cardiac arrest)
