Notes on the table:

  • Crayola crayon color names are quite distinct from the X11 color names. For example: Specifying X11 "yellow" in HTML (style="background-color:yellow;" or style="background-color:#FFFF00") yields a brighter yellow than what Crayola thinks Crayola crayon "yellow" is (span style="background-color:#FBE870").
  • Ultra Yellow and Unmellow Yellow are two colors for which Crayola gives the same RGB value. Crayola also gives the same RGB values to Hot Magenta and Purple Pizzazz.
  • 2004 State-Your-Color contest - gave equivalent state, Washington DC and patriotic color names for a limited edition 64 crayon box. They are noted as equivalents to the Crayola color list in the color list table above. This list is also on the Crayola site, but this web link is more compact and has a reviewer comment.
