The conventional Egyptian chronology is the chronology accepted during the 20th century, but it does not include any of the major revision proposals that have also been made in that time.
The Egyptian religion, embodied in Egyptian mythology, is a succession of beliefs held by the people of Egypt, as early as predynastic times and all the way until the coming of Christianity and Islam in the Graeco-Roman and Arab eras.

Egyptian history is broken into several different periods according to the dynasty of the ruling pharaoh.
The 13th Dynasty is often considered part of the Middle Kingdom, although the period seems to be a time confusion and of migration into Egypt by a mysterious people known as the Hyksos, who took advantage of the political instabilities of the Nile Delta to take control of it and later extend their powers south.
The 13th Dynasty, and later the 14th dynasty, continued to rule from either Itjtaway or Thebes, but their control over the rest of Egypt gradually ebbed away.
