Encyclopedia > List of Prince Edward Island rivers

These are a list of rivers, tributaries and creeks located on the island of Prince Edward Island.

Despite the fact that many are called rivers, their freshwater portions are not large enough to warrant this name. These watercourses are more correctly categorized as streams, with the majority of their length being tidal inlets or estuaries where the small amount of fresh water interchanges with salt water from the Gulf of St. Lawrence or Northumberland Strait.

Strange Science: Timeline (11851 words)
This (by no means comprehensive!) list chronicles some of the major events in the history of paleontology and biology.
It will initially be identified (by Cotton Mather) as that of a human giant who perished in Noah's flood, then correctly identified (by Georges Cuvier) as that of a mastodon.
Found near the remains of giant lizards and pygmy elephants, it is formally named Homo floresiensis and nicknamed the "hobbit." Though some suspect it's a kind of malformed, small-brained midget, this interpretation will be answered by braincase scans and the announcement of several more individuals of the same species.
