Years of membership shall commence from the date of joining an Affiliated Club or a Ladies Auxiliary or former junior surf lifesaving association(s) but not earlier than the age to become eligible to obtain SLSA's Surf Rescue Certificate, whichever shall be the later date.
Meritorious Awards may be awarded to Affiliated Clubs and/or their members and/or the public generally for outstanding deeds of bravery performed in the sphere of operations of SLSA.
Recipients of a Commendation are not excluded from nominating for a Meritorious Award.
