They often tell the tale of a cowboys or outlaws life, especially famous ones like Jesse James or Pecos Bill. Famous cowboy song singers are Hank Snow, Jimmy Driftwood, Doc Watson, Merle Travis, Bill Monroe or the Carter Family. Cowboy songs are usually categorized as Bluegrass, Country or Folk.
