Film is a term that encompasses motion pictures as individual projects, as well as — in metonymy — the field in general.
Stock widths and the film format for images on the reel have had a rich history, though most large commercial films are still shot on (and distributed to theaters) as 35 mm prints.
Film preservation of decaying film stock is a matter of concern to both film historians and archivists, and to companies interested in preserving their existing products in order to make them available to future generations (and thereby increase revenue).
Australian Horror Films List (4525 words)
Not a horror film, but in its theme of small-town suspicion and its depiction of the hounding of a foriegn 'outsider', the Pole, for an axe murder he didn't commit, it is confronting and suspenseful.
A gory 'stalk-and-slash' horror thriller in which a woman is tormented by nightmares of bloody murder, having been traumatised as a child when her mother was killed in a car accident the girl herself caused.
The film's episodic structure doesn't generate much tension — the film is intended more as a character study and an exploration of the powerlessness people feel when faced with the threat of nuclear destruction.
