The Kansas State Agricultural College located at Manhattan, is the sole beneficiary in Kansas of the land-grant act of July 2, 1862, and of subsequent supplementary federal legislation.
The provisions of the Morrill Act were accepted by the state, February 3, 1863, and the state obligated itself to comply with all of the provisions of said act.
The state live stock registry board consists of the dean of the division of agriculture, and the heads of the departments of animal husbandry and of veterinary medicine of the college, and have the duty of licensing stallions used for breeding purposes within the state and authority to verify their breeding, and to classify them.
