NMITA Gastropod taxonomic list (1040 words)
Instead I have placed subgenera (if recognized) in alphabetical order within a genus, genera alphabetically within a family, families alphabetically within superfamilies and so on through to the level of ‘Infraorder’ (e.g.
Littorinimorpha, Ptenoglossa and Neogastropoda of the ‘Superorder’ Caenogastropoda).
Hierarchical rank is not specified, though authors and dates are given for families, but relative ranking is shown by font size, bold capitalisation and then, from Order/’Superorder’-levels, by degree of indentation from the margin.
