Liverpool railway station, Sydney was an early terminus of the South line opened in 1856 and it remains a busy intermediate terminus and transport interchange hub. The station has three platforms. Platforms 1 and 2 serve the South Line, and platform 3 serves as a terminus for some Bankstown Line trains. Liverpool railway station has a busy bus station attatched to it. This acts as a hub for buses serving the local area, and also as the terminus of the T-Way which provides bus services to Parramatta operating mostly on a dedicated bus roadway. The T-Way opened in 2003. The town of Liverpool on the Georges River is one of the earliest settlements of the colony of New South Wales.
