Sub-species

Each sub-species of Lizardman is geared towards a specific duty such as war or heavy construction.

Saurus Warrior

The Saurus Warriors are the Lizardmen warrior spawn. They are roughly a head taller than humans, and are also stronger and slower. They have very thick, scaly hides, and their bodies are covered in natural spurs and spikes. It is said that no Saurus has ever died of natural causes, and, just like the Elves can live for thousands of years, barring death in combat. They get progressively bigger, more powerful, and become better fighters the longer they live.

There are several roles a Saurus can be spawned to accomplish:

-Saurus warriors: the backbone of the Lizardman army, generic warriors that can sometimes be spawned into unit champions.

-Temple Guard: Guard the lizardman temples and the Slann in battle. They wear the skulls of baby Stegadons they have slain into battle as helmets. They are also armed with a halberd and can wear armour, unlike normal Saurus warriors.

-Cold one riders: Are spawned to ride cold ones into battle, they display an unusually large crest and excrete an odd smelling musk.

-Heros and Lords: become stronger depending on their age.

Notable Saurus: Kroq-Gar

Slann

The magic-wielding Slann priests act as the mouthpiece of the Old Ones. These bloated, ancient creatures resemble giant frogs and are extremely adept at using magic. They have been known to enter century-long trances. Genera See text. ...

There are five generations of Slann spawned by the Old Ones. There are no Slann of the first generation alive today, but their mummified remains are still powerful enough to aid the other Slann in battle. Particularly the Venerable Lord Kroak, the most powerful Slann of the first generation who was the first Slann spawned on the Warhammer World and was therefore fated to be present at its end.

Lord Kroak destroyed hundreds of thousands of Daemons during the first great Chaos incursion before finally being destroyed by a Greater Daemon however his sprit refused to leave the plane of existence and cast his destroyers back to the warp. Thousands of years later Lord Kroak's sprit remains closely attached to his Vernerated corpse, indeed it is visible to other magic users, while his powers are reduced from their zenith Lord Kroak is still far more powerful then most, if not all, mortal magic users.

Notable Slann: Venerable Lord Kroak, Lord Mazdamundi

Skink

Skinks are the artisans of the Lizardmen. They do jobs like craftworking and building temples in addition to being the personal adjutants of the Slann. Skinks can use magic, though not so effectively as their ancient masters. In times of war, the skinks take up weapons such as short bows, blowpipes and javelins and march to battle with their warrior cousins, lead by stronger Skink Chiefs.

One relatively common Chief, known as the Flying Skink of Doom, wears a cloak of feathers and flies bravely behind enemy lines to take out enemy war machines and wizards. The name Flying Skink of Doom is un unofficial nickname for any skink hero given certain magic items and used by a player to take out enemy war machines and wizards. Albus Dumbledore, from the Harry Potter series, is a traditional wizard. ...

A variant of the Skink is the stealthy Chameleon Skink, who like their namesakes are capable of changing their colors to blend in with their surroundings. Notable Skink: Tenehuain the Prophet of Sotek, Tichi-Huichi

Kroxigor

Kroxigor are heavy laborers in Lizardman cities, and can also be used to terrible effect in battle. They are large, but fairly simple-minded, with their weapons in battle typically chained to their wrists to keep them from dropping them. In earlier editions of Warhammer Kroxigors were able to join ranks with a unit of skinks, increasing the ferocity of the regiment while swinging their great weapons above the heads of their smaller kin, but as of the sixth edition of Warhammer Kroxigors are unable to form units with skins, although they can charge through them to reach their enemies. Notable Kroxigors: Nakai.
