Llandaff is also home to a preparatory school (The Cathedral School), which Roald Dahl attended. Roald Dahl was also born here. Other famous births include singer Charlotte Church and choirmaster and organist Sir Ivor Atkins. BBC Wales have their headquarters there. The welsh artist Ivor Williams lived and painted in Llandaff House until his death in 1982. The independent GDST school, Howell's School Llandaff, is also based in the area and recently expanded from an all-girls school to include the co-educational Howell's Sixth Form College. It is also home to various popular celebrities such as Charlotte Church, Gavin Henson the asian bloke of ITV News fame, to name but a few.
