The first log flume amusement ride is said to be the El Aserradero ("The Sawmill" in Spanish), built by amusement company Arrow Development (also known as Arrow Dynamics, Arrow/Huss, Arrow, and now part of S&S/Arrow) in 1963 at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas. The Log Flume was the park's first custom designed ride, weaving its way through the woods, and taking its riders well away from the crowds into an area of dense woodland.
Log Flumes have become a standard amusement park ride, to the point where visitors are likely to be shocked to visit a park and find that there isn't some sort of flume on offer.
The station is more the type you'd associate with a rapids ride than a Log Flume, using a moving circular platform, covered by an ornate roof, probably in a desperate bid to fit the Merrie England theme.

Once the longest Log Flume in the world, this ride was basically an aquatic rollercoaster and was based on Canadian water chutes that are used to transport logs from forest to riverside.
In the early 90s the previous white metal station was clad in wood and in 1996 the dinosaurs were removed again.
By 2003 the Log Flume was in much need of a makeover, 2004 saw the log flume re-themed around bath time for a more fun themed experience.
