The London Dungeon is a tourist attraction, based in Tooley Street, London, near London Bridge rail station. It recreates various gory and macabre historical events in a style which attempts to make them appealing to the younger generation. Initially designed as more of a museum of horrible history, the Dungeon has evolved to become an actor led, highly interactive experience that draws visitors from far and wide. Judgement of Sinners

A really light, funny show depicting a particularly dark time in British history in the 18th century where draconian laws meant that over 200 crimes were punishable by death. It sees the visitors dragged in front of an eccentric judge and various people called into the dock to be sentenced for crimes as varied as witchcraft to urinating in the wells and poisoning the water supplies!!


Traitor: Boat Ride to Hell!

A very dark, suspense filled boat ride that is themed to replicate the last journey through Traitor’s Gate into the Tower of London.


Sweeney Todd

A show which is in almost complete darkness and is probably the most scary of all the shows as visitors have no idea what is going to happen. Visitors are seated in animatronic ‘barbers chairs’ and special effects make them feel as if Sweeney is right behind them, giving them a very close shave. Sweeny Todd himself was a barber, sometimes known as The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street, and slit the throats of his customers with his razors, supposedly giving the carcasses to his wife to be baked into large pies. Jack the Ripper

A favourite based on the gruesome serial killings of 5 unsuspecting prostitutes in Whitechapel, in the year 1888. The live show includes the discovery of the mutilated bodies and investigates who the identity of the killer might be... Jack the Ripper is the pseudonym given to an unidentified serial killer active in the largely impoverished Whitechapel area of London, England in the second half of 1888. ...


It was thought that Jack the Ripper was a doctor or a butcher because of the apparently careful cuts on the victims.


Great Fire of London

It's the year 1666 and much of London burns to the ground due to the relentless fire that started down in Pudding Lane, from the Royal bakery. Visitors are shown a short educational film in a themed 17th century courtyard before the fire reaches them and they have to battle through the winding streets to safety. Extremis: Drop Ride to Doom

The new feature for the Dungeon, opened at the end of March 2007, Extremis represents substantial investment. Treated as criminals sent to hang at Newgate, visitors will be taken from a holding cell and sat in the ride which will take them to the top of the Dungeon. They will then have the charges against them read out, a noose will drop in front of their face and as the hangman pulls the leaver they will suddenly drop towards the ground.

The London Dungeon is a widely publicized tourist attraction which promises to provide scary entertainment, and is touted as a must-see in London.
There are over 40 exhibits to drag yourself through once you’ve entered the Dungeon, and by the end of it you’ll be thoroughly sick of the sight of fake blood and the amateurish actors meant to scare you by “bringing the exhibits to life”.

The London Dungeon is situated on Tooley Street and is accessible via numerous underground stations including London Bridge, Monument, Cannon Street and Tower Hill.
London Bridge station is less than 100 metres from the museum, while Monument/Bank station is equally as close.
As exhibitions and figures are so realistic, the London Dungeon is not recommended for children under three years old and under 15's must be accompanied by an adult.
