The Loop Parkway (or simply The Loop) is a spur off the Meadowbrook Parkway. It has two exits, one on each end. At the other end is Lido Boulevard (County Route 1) on the border of Lido and Pt. Lookout. The Loop's connection at the south end of the Meadowbrook gives people easy access to the county seat in Mineola and the Ocean Parkway (which connects with or goes through Jones Beach, Captree State Park, and the Robert Moses Causeway. The LoopParkway, which has no exits between the two termini, recently underwent a two-year-long project that saw construction of new roadways, rehabilitation of the parkway's three channel crossings, and installation of new signs, wooden guardrails and sand-filled impact attenuators.
In the 1950's and 1960's, the LoopParkway was proposed to connect with the eastern terminus of the Nassau Expressway (NY 878) in Point Lookout.
