Storyline Lost Colony's story takes place in the mid-23rd century. Corperations are vyeing for the resources of other planets. The Veritas Corporation launches a ship on a 50 year journey for a mining operation to a nearby star system, Sirus. However, somthing goes wrong and the ship ends up at the nearby star system of Procyon. After the crew wakes from their cryo-sleep, they come to the conclusion that the planet would be acceptable for their mining operations. Shortly after mineing comences, the Colonists split into three factions: The Insurgents: this faction wishes to escape Procyon III and return to earth. They intend to use whatever means nessary to secure the codes to call for help and "get off this hell hole". The Survivalists: Having found a new form of energy, this faction believes that by useing it they can create a new Eden. They see the other two factions as not worthy specimens to enjoy this eternal life. The Veritas Corporation: The Veritas faction is loyal to the original mission of the mineing operation. They believe that they still have a valid charter to comence mineing and have instituted martial law to ensure progress for the Veritas Corporation.[2]
Gameplay Lost Colony will be a First Person Shooter experience with a territoral control conquest of hacking and gaining control of different bases and different resources in the name of your faction, similar to PlanetSide. Different bases provide different functions and different resources, these bases are perminant structures in the game which are contested by the three factions. The in-game guild system, called Outfits, allow players another aspect of territorial control by building upgradable bases at stratigic 'plots' for players to obtain vechicals, weapons and a respawn point. These Outfit bases cannot be captured like other bases, only destroyed. In addition to the FPS experience, the game will implement and economy system 'credits' will be awarded to soldiers as a salary during playtime. Players are also able to earn credits by performing tasks such as gaining bases for their faction and supplying bases with energy.
