Loutro Elenis (Greek: Λουτρο Ελένης, also: Λουτρά Ωραίας Ελένης), also Loutra Elenis (lit. the Baths of Belle Helene) is a place located in Corinthia about 6 km SE of Corinth. It is part of the municipality of Saronikos. It is connected by a highway linking Corinth and Epidaurus/Epidavros and Porto Cheli. in the prefecture of Ilia. Distance from GR-7/E65 is 8 km E, 4 km S of GR-8A and approx. 80 km W of Athens. Its nearest communities are Isthmia to the northeast and Galataki to the northeast.ά
The place has a school, a church, asquare (plateia), and also has a beach located to its east. The area is surrounded by hills to the north and is near the northwestern part of the Saronic Gulf. Most of the residential houses align with the gulf.
On our way we encounter another Epidavros, Nea (New) Epidavros, where the first National Assembly met in 1821, and beyond that the Monastery of the Virgin of Agnounda.
Now we're entering the prefecture of Corinthia, and as we reach the seaside we're tempted by the beaches at Almyri and Loutra Oraias Elenis.
The Istmus and Corinth are close at hand and we'll take some time off to visit the site of ancient Corinth, whose population were more famous for their business skills than for their philosophical or military expertise.
