My Dinner With Elmyra
This segment begins with Buster interviewing Gogo Dodo, giving Gogo the option of either two beautiful women or an electric can opener. Gogo chooses the can opener. Montana Max is forced to take Elmyra Duff on a date while his parents have dinner with her parents, who appear to be old friends; Max initially refuses, describing Elmyra as "Godzilla with bangs!" but is coerced into doing so after his mother threatens to cut off his allowance. From there Monty spends the day taking Elmyra around Acme Acres, taking her first to Weenie Burger for lunch and then to the movies, and becoming an object of ridicule in the process as everyone from Buster and Babs to Fowlmouth laugh at him and the bubbly, blissfully out of it Elmyra. At the end of the night when he has to walk Elmyra to her door, he plots to blast her with seltzer for revenge, but Elmyra catches Max off guard and gives him an incredibly passionate kiss. As his driver takes him home, a stunned, almost horrorified Max exclaims "I think I'm in love!" - shattering the moon in the process. The Amazing Three This segment starts with Buster interviewing Babs. Babs says she's tired of dating "silly, immature little boys" and wants to meet a "sophisticated older guy with a special affinity for rabbits!" The best Buster can do for her is Elmer Fudd, whom Babs does not approve of. Elmer Fudd The fictional cartoon character Elmer J. Fudd, now one of the most famous Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies characters, also has one of the more convoluted and disputed origins in the Warner Brothers cartoon pantheon (second only to Bugs Bunny himself). ...
At school, Babs and Shirley the Loon watch with dismay and disdain while their male counterparts, Buster and Plucky, along with Hamton, partake of their own game Will Dizzy Eat It?, a testament to the purple tasmanian devil's monstrous appetite (this includes feeding Dizzy chicken legs, a landmine and even a stealth bomber). Babs and Shirley profess disappointment with their would be significant others and agree that they should start socializing with older, more sophisticated men. Fifi La Fume then comes along and shows her friends an invitation she got for the senior dance at Perfecto Prep, an invitation the girls decide to attend - despite the fact that Perfecto Prep is generally the rival of Acme Looniversity. After tricking Babs' dad into dropping them off at a bingo gathering, the girls trek over to Perfecto Prep and use the Acme Little Wonder Make Up Kit to make themselves glamorous before going inside. After reassuring themselves that they can make it as long as they "play it cool", the girls try to socialize with the older crowd, but quickly find that they are in over their heads. Babs' impersonation of Lauren Bacall (it is actually Babs' voice actor Tress MacNeille using a Lauren Bacall-like voice) and the "whistle routine" quickly backfires on her, as does Shirley going up to a seemingly sophisticated older duck and asking him for his "sign". Fifi seemingly finds success when she engages in a game of cat and mouse with an older skunk (dressed in yacht owner garb), but Babs' thinks Fifi's getting herself into too much trouble and tries to break up the chase, which results in red punch spilling all over Shirley, resulting in a Carrie style parody in which an enraged Shirley uses her telekinetic powers to blow up the prom before calming down thanks to fire safety water cleansing her. Shirley just shrugs and says, "Oops! Mood swing." Lauren Bacall (born Betty Joan Perske on September 16, 1924) is an American film and stage actress. ...

The defeated, dejected girls go to Weenie Burger, where Buster and the guys are still hosting Will Dizzy Eat It? (the normally confrontational Montana Max, amazingly enough, takes part in the festivities, holding the ramp for Plucky to shoot a rocket powered skateboard into Dizzy's mouth). Buster asks Babs how the party went, and Babs replies that she and the girls have decided to act their "immature" ages a little longer. Babs then throws the Acme Little Wonder Make Up Kit into the ring, asking "Will Dizzy eat it?" Dizzy does - but the makeup accidentally puts him in drag, resulting in attracting the unwanted attention of the Perfecto Prep crowd, who chase after him thinking him to be a cute woman. |
