The song was written by Minogue, Richard Stannard, Julian Gallagher, Ash Howes and Martin Harrington, and produced by Stannard and Gallagher. The song was released as the third single from the Fever album in the summer of 2002, where it became Minogue's twenty-fourth Top 10 hit in the United Kingdom. The song was also nominated for the 2002 Grammy Awards in the category "Best Dance Recording", providing Minogue with her first Grammy nomination. "Love at First Sight" was released in the UK on June 10, 2002, debuting at #2, and spending a total of 12 weeks in the Top 75. It also became Minogue's third consecutive release to top the UK radio airplay charts.
