Lowell is a village located in Dodge County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 366. The village is located within the Town of Lowell.


Geography

Lowell is located at 43°20'20" North, 88°49'13" West (43.338909, -88.82055)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.7 km˛ (1.0 mi˛). 2.6 km˛ (1.0 mi˛) of it is land and 0.1 km˛ (0.04 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 2.91% water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 366 people, 142 households, and 93 families residing in the village. The population density is 142.7/km˛ (368.1/mi˛). There are 153 housing units at an average density of 59.7/km˛ (153.9/mi˛). The racial makeup of the village is 96.17% White, 0.27% Black or African American, 0.00% Native American, 1.09% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.64% from other races, and 0.82% from two or more races. 3.28% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 142 households out of which 37.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.4% are married couples living together, 8.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.5% are non-families. 27.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.58 and the average family size is 3.18.


In the village the population is spread out with 30.3% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 32.2% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 10.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 104.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 104.0 males.


The median income for a household in the village is $43,594, and the median income for a family is $46,750. Males have a median income of $35,694 versus $23,333 for females. The per capita income for the village is $14,393. 9.5% of the population and 4.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 14.7% of those under the age of 18 and 6.3% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
