Lumencraft has a historical significance by introducing a gatling gun style flashlight as well as introducing a variety of technologies in the industry. For example the Gatlight line features a design consisting of 12 bars, with either exposed batteries (GatLight V1 and V2) or carbon fiber sleeve behind the bars (GatLight V3). All GatLight models are submersible waterproof - despite the exposed batteries for the GatLight V1 and V2 models. The GatLight V1 GatLight V1 Luxeon LED flashlight. Dimensions: 3.1" x 1.0" Lumencraft's first flashlight featured an exposed battery, however the light is fully submersible. Only 40 serial numbered units have been produced of this light and specimens are trading at up to 5 times their original sales price. No more GatLight V1 versions are available from the manufacturer. The light is powered by a Luxeon III LED with a constant brightness driver and a rotary knob for on/off operation.
The GatLight V2 GatLight V2 Luxeon LED flashlight. Dimensions: 3.5" x 1.0" The next evolutionary step featured the same exposed battery design as was introduced with the V1, but included an industry first fully smooth variable brightness control. Even though other manufacturers (Surefire Titan) have claimed this achievement at a later point in time, public internet sources document that Lumencraft was the first to introduce this feature. Only 200 units (in Titanium, Type III annodized Aluminum and Stainless Steel) were produced. The GatLight V2 features a rotary knob, rotating the knob clockwise increases the brightess, while a counterclock wise rotation decreases the brightness. Each GatLight V2 consists of over 80 parts, they are powered by a Luxeon III U-bin LED. No more V2s are available from the manufacturer. The GatLight V3 GatLight V3 Luxeon LED flashlight. Dimensions: 3.5" x 1.0" Lumencraft's GatLight V3 offers a variety of improvements over the V2. The main building material is Titanium and -another industry first - carbon fiber composites which is replacing the exposed battery design found in the V1 and V2 version. The GatLight V3 was produced in 2 versions, the so called Tuxedo version has black center, front and back sections, while the 12 bars are made out of titanium. The all Titanium version is made out of all Titanium. The number of parts for the GatLight V3 reaches almost 90, almost 40 of those are custom machined parts. As with the V1 and V2, the V3 has been produced only in a very limited number.
