Lunds kommun is a municipality in Skåne County in southernmost Sweden.


The town of Lund, with a population of 73,840, is the natural center of the municipality, but administrative reforms of the 1970s led to the incorporation of the towns of:

  • Södra Sandby, pop. 5,586
  • Dalby, pop. 5,469
  • Veberöd, pop. 3,569
  • Genarp, pop. 2,511

These towns are part of the South-Western Scania metropolitan area, chiefly serving as suburbs for Malmö and Lund.


Other suburbs within the municipality include:

  • Idala, pop. 712
  • Stångby, pop. 674
  • Revinge by, pop. 540
  • Torna Hällestad, pop. 534

(All figures as of 2000.)


The national park Dalby Söderskog is situated between Dalby and Lund.
