Encyclopedia > Luther Reigns

Matthew Wiese better known as Luther Reigns (born September 22, 1971 in Hell's Kitchen, New York, New York) is an American professional wrestler currently working for World Wrestling Entertainment's SmackDown! brand. He used to be known in Ohio Valley Wrestling as Horshu and Inspector Max Impact. He was brought into the WWE as the assistant to (then) general manager Kurt Angle and has been his run-in partner ever since.

His finishing maneuver is a Rolling stunner, which has been widely referred to as the Roll of the Dice. It has yet to be given an official name as Luther Reigns' finisher, but is often referred to by fans as the Reign of Terror or the Reigns Supreme.

In his life before becoming a WWE superstar, he endured many hardships, including several drug overdoses, being fired from the WCW roster and at one point having his throat cut from ear to ear.
