Luwan (卢湾) is a district located in Central Shanghai, China. It has an area of 8.05 kmē and population of 368 000 as of 2001.


Luwan district is located directly south of People's Square. The northern part of Luwan includes one of the best sections of Hua Hai Road, famous for its shops and restaurants.


Luwan also contains the old French Concession area, one of the most prestigious sections of the city. The plane trees lining the main streets were imported from France over 100 years ago.

In December 1944, Yangsupu District was established with an area of 7.7km².
