"If I don't get a character this season, I'll sue!" Lyta Alexander in Babylon 5 (2444 words)
Patricia Tallman plays Lyta's scene in MedLab with Franklin in such a way as to underline her wish to defend her independence from everybody; the wearing of Corps garb is a tragic necessity, a necessity which it could convincingly be argued her 'friends' on the command staff have forced her to accept.
Lyta remains hard and efficient throughout, appearing first as a clerk checking her charges through, then as a soldier in the advance party that takes the Earthforce navigation post on Mars, and finally as the co-ordinator of the altered telepaths.
Lyta is established as protective of her personal morality, willing to co-operate with others, and highly empathic, identifying strongly with the interests of groups to which she does not quite belong.
