MD.45 History

The first (and only) album released was The Craving (July 23, 1996), a Megadeth demo song. This album was regarded by some as a disappointment due to Lee Ving's strange vocals when compared with Megadeth's. Almost a decade later Dave Mustaine chose to try again with "The Craving" by remastering it. During the remastering process, it was realized that the vocal track and harmonica track were "missing." Because of the prior disappointment with Lee Ving's vocals and that fans wanted to hear Mustaine sing, Mustaine chose to do the vocals himself and simulate the harmonica parts on the guitar. While some enjoy this version of "The Craving," others regard it as a demonstration of Dave's limited vocal ability. When stacked side-by-side with the exact songs comparing Dave and Lee's vocals, the limited range of Dave's voice is clear. Beside the missing vocal track, the remastered version is also missing Ving's harmonica parts, which is strange to listen to on songs like "My Town." With nothing to fill the gap of a missing portion of the song, it serves a detriment to the quality of the full album. ‹ The template below has been proposed for deletion. ...
