There are at least two albums that bear the title "Madonna":

  • Madonna is the first album released from pop star Madonna. It was released in 1983 by Sire Records. It made her a star and includes top hits such as "Holiday", "Lucky Star" and "Borderline".

Madonna Song Lyrics: Home Page (1485 words)
Madonna's third album, showing her variety with songs like Live To Tell, Papa Don't Preach, Open Your Heart, La Isla Bonita, and the title song, True Blue.
Although not as popular as her other albums, this soundtrack from the movie "Dick Tracy" has a definite old-fashioned style to it with songs such as Hanky Panky, He's A Man, Something To Remember, and the dance smash, Vogue.
Madonna teamed up with French songwriter/producer Mirwais to create an album that mixes electronica and country styles with tracks such as the title track, Music, Paradise (Not For Me), Gone, and I Deserve It.
Amazon.co.uk: Madonna: the First Album/Remastered: Music: Madonna (2236 words)
I don't think Madonna thought she would become the international superstar she is today, that's why this album is mostly dance-oriented, more so than her follow-up albums Like A Virgin and True Blue which definitely had a more mainstream pop sound to them.
Madonna may not have been an international superstar at this stage in her career, but she was huge in the clubs.
Those who choose to see Madonna, as a self-image mongerer might be surprised to learn that not even the Queen herself was featured on the sleeve for the record.
