The Magic Circle is a Britishorganisation which is a trade union for magicians. Magicians who want to join need to demonstrate their skills to existing members. Other countries have similar organizations.
The Magic Circle was founded in 1905.

The MagicCircle in theory serves as a container for magical energies as well as helping to switch from the mundane consciousness of everyday life to that of a more magically minded one.

Some argue that blessed objects are not as effective as circle casting because the magiccircle can be impenetrable to many kinds of malevolence, whereas the blessed object may fluctuate in power or work only in one specific instance or enemy.
However, others claimed that wearing charms is better that circles because circle casting traps the person in the very area that she casts.
